Spacers |
Spacers are used to separate the glass from the artwork in a framed piece of artwork. This eliminates transfer of the artwork surface to the glass over time and allows paper-based art to “breath” even though it is under glass. We stock two types of spacers, both by FrameTek: |
Econospace spacers – Rectangular plastic tubes that adhere to the inside of the glass and rest against the artwork or back board. These are available in two sizes: 1/8” and 1/4" in either black or clear. |
Framespace spacers – Pieces of plastic that fit over the edges of the glass and backboard, with a fat rectangular “belly” that keeps the glass from touching the artwork. These are available in 1/4" in clear. (Note: Framespace Model 2 fits Mirogard museum glass.) |
Each spacer is 5’ long. We sell them individually. Volume discounts are available. |
